******** EVDP February 13th Meeting ********
Kristin Guzman, Aldrich CPAs + Advisors
Fundraising for non-profit organizations is a challenging and sometimes overwhelming task. We are faced with questions from management, board members, and donors regarding how funds received can be used and the rules that govern our actions. Challenging economic times can also lead to increased pressure to compromise our standards for the sake of the organization needs. In this session we will be talking about the importance of safeguarding the organizations reputation by protecting the funds entrusted to us. What are the rules? Is there any grey areas? Bring your questions and examples to share with the group as we work together to evaluate ethical fundraising practices.
Kristen Guzman is a Senior Manager of NFP Niche at Aldrich CPAs + Advisors. She specializes in audits of nonprofit organizations, single audits, agreed-upon procedures and consulting work. Kristen serves on the board of directors for a NFP organization, current as Treasurer, and has volunteered with many local nonprofit organizations.
